About
Education
- Master of Physician Assistant Practice, Ohio University, Dublin, OH
I chose to pursue a career in healthcare because I believe in being involved and making a positive impact on people's lives. I’ve always been drawn to helping others, and I see healthcare as a powerful way to provide support and care when it's needed most.
In women’s healthcare, being approachable and gentle are key to successful relationships between patient and provider. I love talking to women, listening to them, and helping address their concerns. These tend to be the most effective ways of encouraging them to come in for regular visits when needed – and to be proactive and mindful of their health. It’s important to me to provide a good, comfortable environment for every woman, where she feels at ease discussing any problem troubling her.
The field of urogynecology is advancing very quickly – we’re now able to offer many more solutions and treatments designed to address gynecological and pelvic problems women once accepted as part of being female, or as an unavoidable part of the aging process. Most often, that’s not the case at all. If we can’t entirely fix a problem, we can usually help in a substantive way that allows a woman to resolve symptoms, discomfort and inconvenience.
When I’m not with patients, I love trying eclectic restaurants and concerts – and I plan to start hiking and swimming, now that I’m living in beautiful Southern Arizona.
