About
As an experienced general surgeon, I perform a wide variety of open and minimally-invasive/robotically-assisted procedures. Whether I am treating a hernia, gallbladder, appendix, thyroid or bowel condition, my patients say they know they are in good hands with me.
I decided to become a surgeon in my teen years, when I realized I wanted to help people who were suffering. Despite the challenges in the pursuit of my career in general surgery, my perseverance kept me going to achieve my long term goals. I practiced surgery internationally between the Middle East and the United States and combined my skills, knowledge and experience to become the surgeon I am today.
My practice philosophy involves the importance of honesty; taking an individualized approach; and developing relationships with each patient so that I can best support them. Taking the time to understand someone’s lifestyle and priorities is more than worth it, because then I have a better idea of which treatment modalities will be most effective – and patients are more comfortable with and confident in the plans we make together. Even when a patient faces challenges, I strive to help them get through it and optimize the healing process.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy playing soccer, tennis, swimming, hiking, and spending time with my family.
Languages spoken: English, Farsi, and basic Spanish.
