About
My father was a family practice physician and I was always intrigued by, and admired, the interactions I observed between his patients and him. When I decided to become a family practice doctor, it was those types of interactions and relationships I was looking forward to.
I listen to my patients when they talk to me and I have compassion and understanding for them. I believe that if you just listen, most of the time patients will tell you exactly what is wrong with them. I try to explain their medical issues in words they understand so they don’t leave my office confused about what is going on in their lives.
The longer I have a patient, the more I feel as though I am making a difference in his or her life. In my practice, I try to work patients in quickly when they have an urgent need, particularly because I know that being seen quickly can sometimes help patients avoid a more costly urgent care or emergency room visit that may not be needed.
In addition to family medicine, I enjoy sports medicine and treat a lot of patients with lower back pain. When I’m not working, I enjoy deep sea fishing, riding motorcycles and reading.
