About
Growing up, I was surrounded by medicine and was always drawn to it. My father was a hand surgeon at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and medicine touches every aspect of community. My father inspired me to pursue a career in orthopedic surgery. As an adult, I was honored to return to Mayo for my residency program and extended training in total joint replacement.
My career has been devoted to improving outcomes and accelerating the recovery process in hip and knee replacement procedures. Additionally, I have a special interest in helping patients with complex deformities, patients who need a revision or “redo” replacement, and treating patients who have infections in existing hip and knee replacements.
Patients tell me they appreciate the time I spend with them. I believe in shared decision making and I strive to fully educate my patients so they can make the best decision for themselves. It’s gratifying to be able to help my patients change their lives for the better, and I am truly passionate about making sure they have good outcomes.
Outside of work, I am an amateur martial artist. I also enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it is hiking, skiing, or just reading a good book on a sunny patio.
