About
I chose family medicine to care for the whole patient, family and community. Growing up in Bisbee, I watched my father, a physician, take outstanding care of patients throughout our rural community. Seeing him work inspired my passion for community health and wellness – especially in underserved areas – because everyone deserves access to the best care available.
After completing my medical training in Houston, Texas, where I gained experience caring for patients from diverse backgrounds, I returned to Arizona to focus on community-based family medicine and teaching. That early inspiration continues to guide me today as I mentor family medicine and internal medicine resident physicians in Northwest’s graduate medical education program. My training and enthusiasm for education means that I combine compassionate patient care with the development of strong future clinicians.
I help patients get and stay healthy by supporting them in making choices that fit their individual situations and resources. My goal is to collaborate with each person to create a practical plan that optimizes their health by managing chronic conditions, preventing new ones and making sustainable lifestyle changes over time. My patients would say I take time to listen, truly understand and help them move forward with a clear, realistic plan for long-term wellness.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my wife and son, who remind me daily of what matters most: family, balance and gratitude. I’m also an avid runner with a marathon personal best of 2 hours, 55 minutes and 46 seconds – and a lifelong musician who enjoys playing guitar, composing and classical singing.
