About
Education
- Master of Science, Nurse Midwifery and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner: Georgetown University, Washington, D.C.
My passion for physiology inspired me to become a certified nurse midwife, yet midwifery has shown me the importance of women’s health in profound ways.
Midwifery embodies autonomy in the highest sense, because it focuses on holistic yet safe outcomes. I believe in informed decision making, patient centered care and evidence-based practice. It’s very important to me to ensure my patients know they can ask for clarifying information, center their own goals and make empowering choices.
I find when patients know they are in a safe space that emphasizes experience and agency, they are far more confident and satisfied in the path(s) they opt to take. This applies to all settings - pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period; sexual and reproductive health; gynecologic health; and family planning.
My patients would describe me as calm, inviting and communicative. I love my relationships with my patients because they have continued to make my work gratifying and taught me so much as a woman.
When I’m not with patients, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and pursuing wellness activities. I am excited to embrace the beautiful desert landscape that Tucson is famous for.
