About
Education
- Doctor of Nursing Practice, Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, Provo, UT
I have had the pleasure of working in healthcare for more than 30 years. I started as a nurse in various units in hospitals, such as oncology, medical surgery, cardiac intensive care, emergency and was even a flight nurse. Nursing has taught me many things, such as the importance of compassion, communication and education, to name a few. These traits have all remained an important part of my practice philosophy today.
Though I loved making an impact on patients while they were in the hospital, I wanted to be able to continue our partnership after they were discharged. That's when I decided to pursue a nurse practitioner certification.
I strive to help my patients attain the best outcomes. I explain lab results and the disease process, how it is altered by diet, medicine and exercise, and provide the patient with options. I encourage patients, but ultimately, it is they who must make their own healthcare decisions and maintain them. I am their partner every step of the way, and always take the time to listen and provide answers.
I have a special interest in cardiovascular disease, diabetes and hypertension. I treat a broad spectrum of patients, from infants to seniors.
While outside of the office, I enjoy travel, scuba and spending time with my grandchildren.
