About
I chose to practice family medicine partly because I saw so much inequity in healthcare when I was growing up, and continued to see it when I began my medical training. I wanted to provide continuous care to make a meaningful impact on individuals' health throughout their lifespan.
Today, I use my education and skills to deliver holistic, committed, patient-centered care to patients with a diverse variety of conditions. Having the opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients is rewarding – and helping to improve their lives makes my work truly worthwhile and uniquely fulfilling.
I am dedicated to continuous learning, and to adapting evidence-based practices for the benefit of those I serve. I prioritize active listening, open communication, empathy, trust and patient education – and patients would describe me as compassionate, approachable and thoroughly dedicated.
I have special training and experience in outpatient primary care management, preventive medicine, geriatrics and common office procedures including Pap smears, skin biopsies, joint injections, abscess drainage and more.
When I’m not with patients, I enjoy spending time at museums and historic sites, learning about human history. I also spend time hiking, going on road trips, gardening and cultivating plants – and I am an avid follower of Indian cinema, cricket and the NFL.
Languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, intermediate Spanish.
