Before I became a physician assistant, I developed a solid foundation in patient care as a flight paramedic in the United States Army. This experience sharpened my ability to remain cool, calm and collected in high-pressure situations – and at times when attention to detail in a challenging, fast-changing environment is vital to the mission’s success.
Transporting critically-injured patients by helicopter, much like working in the OR during surgery, requires high-level skills and smooth cooperation by every member of the team. Treating surgical patients adds more layers – it’s very important to make sure each patient is on board with his or her care plan and is comfortable asking questions.
I strive to support those around me – patients and providers – with purpose and positivity, as well as clinical knowledge and innovation.
When I’m not at work, I love hiking, running, trying new coffee shops and enjoying al that Tucson has to offer.
