Biography
Dr. Gary Wood is the Medical Director for Northwest Women’s Imaging. In addition to his medical breast imaging practice, he oversees the planning, development and daily operations of the center, Dr. Wood’s expertise reads mammograms, sonograms, breast MRIs and performs biopsies for our patients.
Although Dr. Wood has been in practice over twenty years and has specialized in women’s imaging for the past 15 years, he continues to direct a cutting-edge practice with continued advanced education and new technology. He has interpreted thousands of mammograms, sonograms, and performed hundreds of biopsies His particular area of interest is Breast Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI), a molecular breast imaging technique. Dr. Wood will bring this new technology to Northwest Women’s Imaging in 2010. He was an early adapter of BSGI and was one of the first hundred users of the technology in the country in 2006. Dr. Wood is a member of the medical staff of Northwest Medical Center.
